Loan Specialist

The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration and servicing of loan portfolios by processing loan transactions, maintaining accurate loan records, monitoring collateral and insurance requirements, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines. This role handles loan payoffs, modifications, renewals, wire transfers, document imaging, exception tracking, reporting, and loan file maintenance. The position also provides customer service by responding to inquiries, researching issues, and facilitating timely resolutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process loan servicing transactions, including payments, reversals, advances, refunds, payoffs, modifications, renewals, and deferrals.
• Maintain loan documentation and records, including collateral, title, insurance, and UCC filings.
• Monitor and resolve loan exceptions and post-closing documentation requirements.
• Prepare reports, process operational wire transfers, and perform account maintenance activities.
• Image and manage loan files to ensure accurate record retention.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries and provide effective issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and training requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of loan operations or loan servicing experience within a financial institution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
