About the Role

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall lending management of Northwestern Mutual Credit Union. Monitors delinquent loans and oversees the collection process. Ensures that credit union members are receiving convenient, confidential, high-quality service via all service channels.

What You'll Do

  • Manages assigned personnel including training, development, assigning, monitoring and reviewing work. Ensures redundancy and processes are in place.

  • Contributes to the setting and executing credit union strategy, implementing new services, developing credit union procedures, and working with third party vendors. Conducts annual reviews on key lending vendors and appraisers.

  • Serve as SME for all credit union personnel concerning questions on lending work processes and procedures, including the computer environment and systems used to support the credit union.

  • Provides divisional business process expertise for lending projects. Lead and/or participate in the research, analysis, and recommendation for new processes or modifications to existing processes.

  • Works with Compliance Officer and auditors to ensure loan exceptions are addressed and within compliance of policies and procedures. Recommend changes to operations as needed to ensure lending function remains in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.

  • Manage the credit union's collection function, ensuring that delinquent loans are monitored, reporting is accurate, and consistent collection efforts are implemented up to and including repossession of collateral.

  • Recommends changes in work procedures to improve efficiency within the unit and keeps work procedures up to date.

  • Works closely with President, Vice President, and/or Controller on real estate concentrations and purchased money mortgages ensuring all are reported accurately. Ensure mortgage pipeline is current and up to date.

  • Perform duties of loan officer including member consultations, underwriting, preparing loan documents and closings as needed.

  • Manages lending staff, provides feedback on loan exceptions, and maintains rotation of loans in the queue, and recommends lending authority.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, finance, or a related field required or equivalent experience with at least 5 years’ experience in a credit union or other retail financial with a focus on lending and risk management.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing people

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer base.

  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage and attend to detailed information.

  • Solid working knowledge of computerized financial business applications and personal computer software applications.

Structure 110:

$77,360.00 USD - $116,040.00 USD

Structure 115:

$80,880.00 USD - $121,320.00 USD
