Local CDL-A Flatbed Driver - $30/hr (DOE) + OT - Peoria, IL
 

Pay Information:

• Pay Rate: $30.00+ per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
• Overtime: Paid after 40 hours worked
• Estimated Weekly Earnings: Approximately $1,200-$1,350+ per week, depending on experience and overtime worked

Route & Load Details:

• Route Type: Local, home daily
• Delivery Area: 60+ miles from Peoria, IL to Clinton, IL, 2-3 loads per day
• Freight: Steel coils, steel beams, and other industrial materials
• Equipment: 2027 International automatic day cabs
• Handling: Driver is loaded by a forklift operator each day. Driver is responsible for spotting the forklift operator during loading, securing the load, and strapping/unstrapping freight at delivery locations. No tarping.

Schedule:

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Days: Monday-Friday
• Start Time: Between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM
• Shift Length: Approximately 8-9 hours per day
• Weekly Hours: 40-45 hours
• Overtime: As needed, paid after 40 hours

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a CDL A flatbed truck on local routes.
• Transport steel coils and beams while following all DOT and company safety standards.
• Spot the forklift operator during loading.
• Secure loads using straps and ensure freight is properly secured before transport.
• Unstrap loads at customer delivery locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Complete driver logs and required paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations.
• Work safely in a physically demanding role, including prolonged periods outdoors in very hot conditions.
• Must be capable of working in high-heat environments for 8-10 hours per day.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid CDL Class A
• Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant, verifiable CDL A driving experience
• Flatbed experience required
• Heavy haul or oversized load experience (6-12 months) preferred but not required
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major violations or preventable accidents within the past 3 years
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA qualifications
