Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required as applicable.

Experience Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a safe driving record
• Experience operating 53-foot dry van trailers required
• Previous linehaul, relay, drop and hook or similar over-the-road experience preferred
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements and vehicle safety procedures
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
• Experience safely operating tractor-trailers in a professional environment
• Strong communication skills, time management and commitment to customer service

Job Duties

• Haul automotive parts and automotive manufacturing freight
• Perform drop and hook deliveries and trailer relays
• Complete live unloads at distribution centers and automotive manufacturing facilities
• Work a no-touch freight role with no driver unloading required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous local Class A CDL driving experience is preferred.
• Experience with dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, or dedicated route operations is beneficial.
• Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs), transportation documentation, and freight securement is considered an asset.
• Drivers who demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and a strong safety mindset are well positioned for success as a Local Class A Driver.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit for extended periods while safely operating a commercial vehicle.
• Ability to enter and exit the tractor and trailer multiple times throughout the workday.
• Ability to secure freight and handle cargo when required by the assignment.
• Ability to perform DOT-required vehicle inspections and work safely in changing weather conditions.

As a Local Class A Driver you will safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport freight on local routes while complying with DOT regulations and company safety standards. You will inspect equipment before and after each trip, complete transportation documentation, communicate with dispatch and customers, secure freight when required, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining a professional appearance and commitment to safe driving practices.
