Clinical Laboratory Scientist  
Location: Winterhaven, CA 92283 
Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) 

• Excludes Federal Holidays 

Estimated Start Date: Pending Award and Completion of Credentialing Process 

Compensation: 

• Hourly Rate: $45.00
• Travel weekly stipends: $1,246
• Please keep in mind that payroll is processed on a biweekly basis. 

Contract: 6 months - 1 year with an option to extend 

Benefits:  

• Health and Welfare: $5.09/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week)
• PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service
• Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked
• 11 Paid Holidays: Following the Government calendar throughout the year 

Job Description: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to provide laboratory testing and phlebotomy services in an ambulatory care setting. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality laboratory testing, ensure specimen integrity, and support timely, accurate diagnostic services while maintaining compliance with CLIA, IHS, and facility standards. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related laboratory science field
• Active, unrestricted California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or other appropriate California laboratory license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross), if required by the facility
• Experience using a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Ability to obtain and maintain IHS security clearance, credentialing, and background requirements
• Compliance with all required continuing education and competency requirements 

Responsibilities: 

• Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens while maintaining specimen integrity
• Perform laboratory testing, quality control, instrument maintenance, and result verification
• Document laboratory activities and test results accurately in the LIS and EHR
• Communicate critical results and resolve specimen or testing issues according to laboratory protocols
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, laboratory safety, infection control, and IHS policies
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to support timely and accurate patient care
• Participate in quality assurance, competency validation, and continuous quality improvement activities
