Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care in a 6-bed ICU with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, stepping up to 3:1 for low acuity or 1:1 for high acuity patients.
• Monitor and adjust ventilators including Puritan Bennett 840.
• Administer cardiac drips, sedation, anti-arrhythmic medications, Sandostatin, and insulin.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and ER doctors, ensuring continuous patient observation and intervention as needed.
• Utilize Meditech EMR to document patient care.
• Provide nursing care for patients with conditions such as Afib, RVR, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Severe Anemia, GI Bleeds, DKA, and post-operative total joints.
• Respond to emergencies promptly, including stroke protocols requiring TPA administration if appropriate.
• Observe and monitor patients with ventilators and other critical devices.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including uniform requirements (Grey, Navy blue, or Black scrubs).
