Schedule: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Pay Rate: $58 – $62/hour (W2 without Benefits)

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with a variety of complex medical and cardiac conditions. This role involves caring for patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring, higher oxygen support, dialysis, atrial fibrillation management, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry and acute care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to manage cardiac drips while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical/Telemetry patients during the night shift.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry, and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and cardiac events.
• Care for patients with higher oxygen requirements, atrial fibrillation (A-fib), dialysis needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery.
• Safely administer and monitor cardiac drips, including Heparin, Cardizem (Diltiazem), Amiodarone, and Sotalol initiation, following physician orders and facility protocols.
• Care for step-down patients transferred from the ICU who no longer require ventilator or vasopressor support.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions while ensuring patient safety and adherence to evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, respiratory therapists, dialysis teams, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes using the EPIC electronic medical record.
• Float to other similar Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units as needed based on staffing requirements and patient care needs.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-focused care while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
• Active OHIO RN License (Required).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
• Experience caring for telemetry patients with acute medical and cardiac conditions.
• Experience caring for post-cardiac catheterization patients and step-down ICU patients.
• AHA or American Red Cross BLS Certification (Required).
• AHA or American Red Cross ACLS Certification (Required).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (Required).
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC charting experience required.
