Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level II Special Care Nursery, including monitoring and maintaining stability of cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal functions.
• Assist with specialized procedures such as lumbar puncture and endotracheal resuscitation of newborns 32 weeks or greater.
• Initiate, modify, or stop treatments following established protocols or physician orders.
• Manage respiratory support systems, including High Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation.
• Perform lab draws, administer IV antibiotics, and manage central lines and peripheral IV insertions.
• Conduct neonatal resuscitation with proficiency in NRP certification and S.T.A.B.L.E. certification.
• Stabilize and prepare premature infants less than 32 weeks for transport to a higher-level facility.
• Ensure thermoregulation, monitor blood glucose levels, and support respiratory and neurological functions.
• Float to Postpartum and Labor and Delivery units for neonatal care as needed.
• Comply with all safety and protocol standards to ensure quality patient care.
