Local Contract Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $54-60 per hour

HealthTrust Workforce Solutions Regional is seeking a local contract nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Charleston, South Carolina.

Job Description & Requirements

• Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit

• 48 hours per week
• Shift: 12 hours, nights
• Employment Type: Local Contract

Must have: Ability to care for 4-5 PCU patients/ post cardiac procedures to include: PCI, PPM, ICD Ablations, CABG, TAVRS.  Ability to care for patients with Traches, Chest Tubes, titrating drips, CIWA, and strokes. Proficient in reading telemetry strips.  Time management to include plans of care every shift, collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments. Discharge planning and patient education.

• Advanced skills needed:
• Phlebotomy
• Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of the ICU (Respiratory treatments: inhalers and nebulizers)
• Foley Catheter care and maintenance (with nurse driven protocols for removal)
• Telemetry Post ICU Patients

Procedures performed on unit:  

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS required, NIH stroke scale certification required. 

Unit Specifics: Number of Beds :27 Patient Ratios :1:4 or 1:5 Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) :2-3 PCTs and 1 unit secretary Type of equipment : Documentation system: Meditech Scheduling requirements: 3-12 hours shifts with EOW or 4 weekend shifts per schedule Floating policy: Float to ICU to care for downgrades and ER Holding for patients waiting on beds Patient Experience requirements: Bedside shift report is our method of patient hand off Hospital Specifics- Certifications: BLS and ACLS
