Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (TELE RN) to join a 28-bed Neuro-Tele unit at Akron Campus. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry and neuro nursing experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a 1:4/5 patient ratio.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry, neuro, and post-trauma patients.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Perform and document neurological assessments and stroke scales.
- Administer medications and provide IV therapy.
- Start and maintain IVs.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Float to other units as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EPIC.
Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry RN experience.
- Recent EPIC experience within the last 12 months.
- Recent phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months.
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs.
- Neuro/stroke patient experience.
- Post-trauma patient experience.
- Proficiency with stroke scales.
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to float as required.
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIH Certification
Submission Requirements
- RTO must be provided at the time of submission.
- Maximum 7 days of RTO.
- No RTO during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- No block schedule requests.
- Candidate must provide available dates/times for the interview.
- Solid black scrubs required.
