Position Overview:

CVS Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support its Vaccination Initiative at the Highland Park CVS retail clinic in Mattoon, Illinois. This role focuses on administering a wide range of immunizations while delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong vaccination experience, excellent clinical assessment skills, and the ability to educate patients on vaccine safety, preventive healthcare, and post-vaccination care.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer CDC-recommended vaccines, including:
- Influenza (Flu)
- COVID-19
- MMR
- Hepatitis
- Tdap
- Pneumonia
- Shingles
- RSV
- Other routine adult and pediatric immunizations
Perform comprehensive pre-vaccination assessments and health screenings.
Review patient medical history, allergies, contraindications, and vaccine eligibility.
Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, potential side effects, post-vaccination care, booster schedules, and CDC immunization guidelines.
Monitor patients during the observation period following immunization and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergencies.
Administer medications as ordered and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Maintain vaccine inventory, storage, handling, and cold-chain compliance.
Follow infection prevention and OSHA safety protocols.
Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and healthcare team members to ensure efficient clinic workflow.
Deliver compassionate, patient-focused care while promoting preventive health and wellness initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience, including immunization/vaccination administration
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail clinic
Must be eligible to work and not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List
High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
