Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Valid RN license from an accredited program.
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS, PALS preferred, APHON required chemo certification.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of pediatric hematology/oncology acute care experience; previous travel experience preferred; able to handle central line management and chemo administration.
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to float between units, physically capable of handling shift demands, strong pediatric assessment skills, and critical thinking abilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric hematology/oncology nursing care to pediatric patients, including those with leukemia, solid tumors, and sickle cell crises.
  • Manage central line access, chemo administration, and monitor patient responses using EMR (Epic) and other specialized equipment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, CNAs, RT, and hospitalists—to ensure seamless patient care and safety.
  • Assess patients' conditions, conduct vital signs, and perform safety rounding while demonstrating strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Float between units as required, including PHO and PA units, and provide support within the department, ensuring continuity of care across various pediatric services.
