GLC Group is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitative Counselor with experience in mental health disorders for a full-time contract.

This position is located at the NIH Clinical Center (CC), National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. The NIH Clinical Center is the largest hospital in the world dedicated entirely to translational clinical research. The hospital maintains a 200-bed inpatient capacity with 18 outpatient clinics (including 3 day hospitals) to support the intramural research programs of the 17 institutes and centers with clinical programs on the NIH Bethesda campus.

Pay: $57

Shift: Monday to Friday (days), 40 hours a week

MAJOR DUTIES

• Provide vocational rehabilitation counseling for patients with physical, cognitive, and mental health diagnoses.
• Conduct vocational assessments, develop individualized plans, and set short- and long-term goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Develop and maintain vocational resources and community partnerships at local, national, and international levels.
• Participate in research initiatives, outcome measurement, and dissemination of findings.
• Write thorough assessments and progress reports and maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist patients in adjusting to disabilities and coordinate appropriate work therapy placements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in a clinical setting
• Master’s degree in Rehabilitation (VRC, CRC, LPC, or LSW certifications will be considered)
• Experience working with mental health disorders, especially alcoholism, bipolar disorder, and depression
• Current and valid state license
• Current and valid BLS certification
• Must pass a federal background check
