This position writes, revises, updates, maintains, and exercises the district's All Hazards Emergency Response Plan, with particular emphasis on bioterrorism response, communicable disease, and other public health emergencies. In addition, this position writes, maintains and exercises the district Continuity Plan and Communication Plan, ensuring district staff are equipped and trained to use tactical communication devices. The planner works closely with CHD management, City of Chesapeake Emergency Management, multiple government and community agencies and represents the district activities/interests with regional state Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response partners. The Planner reports to the District Director.\n \nMinimum Qualifications\n\n Considerable knowledge of and experience in planning and policy \n \ndevelopment and implementation, program evaluation and coalition building\n\n Experience developing and exercising emergency response plans\n Experience in health communications essential \n Experience working with diverse groups and the general public to assess community needs, provide education and information, and coordinate group activities\n A comprehensive knowledge of and experience working within the \n \ncommunity environment with emergency preparedness and response \n \nresources and methods\n\n Good oral and written communication skills are required\n \nAdditional Considerations\n\n Knowledge in public health or equivalent combination of training & experience preferred\n Knowledge of and experience with public health responses to threats and emergencies, including but not limited to bioterrorism, preferred\n \nSpecial Instructions\n \nYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or r\u00e9sum\u00e9 is submitted successfully.
