Position Details

Position Details:

• Start the day in the warehouse helping to load the truck
• Delivering appliances, furniture, exercise equipment, patio furniture, etc. to customers' homes, businesses, and building sites
• The delivery will include unloading and installation of equipment where applicable
• This account delivers to multi-family sites which requires pulling heavy items up and down 5 flights of stairs without an elevator with the assistance of a dolly and helper.
• There will be multiple deliveries per day
• Some stops may have returns to pick up.

Must Cover (Physically Demanding)

• This is a highly physical role requiring the daily loading, unloading, and installation of heavy appliances and bulky freight (furniture, fitness equipment, etc.).
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and maneuver items upwards of 600 lbs. utilizing team lifting, proper tools, and carts.
• Technical Skills: Experience with dollies, lift gates, pallet jacks, ramps, and general hand tools for assembly/installation is strongly preferred.
• Training will include but is not limited to product familiarization, assembly & installation, straight-truck training, defensive driving, DOT regulations, customer service skills and various operations procedures.
• Should wear work pants/khakis with plain shirt and steel toe boots/shoes
• Uniforms are provided
• Training will be 3-4 weeks.

In accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, qualified applicants for this driving position must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

About the Opportunity

This position is paid an hourly rate for all hours worked plus an activity-based bonus payment. The activity-based bonus payment is the sum of your eligible activity pay less your base hourly earnings for the week.

Activity-Based Bonus Components:

• Dispatch daily rate: $25 per day

• Route mileage rate: $0.38 - $0.44

• Unload pay: $0.36 - $0.42 per unit

• Multi-family site unload pay: $0.51 - $0.64 per unit

• Stop pay: $7.12 - $8.75

• Delivery service time: $0.31 - $0.38 per minute

• Cross-docking: $20 per hour

• Right-seat driving: $20 per hour

• New hire training: $20 per hour

• Safety training: $20 per hour

• Holiday pay: $140 per day

• Rest breaks paid at the hourly rate, plus an additional amount for the activity-based bonus payment.

• Drivers in this position over the last six to twelve months have averaged annualized earnings of $60,000
