Responsibilities
Occupational Therapists (OTs) establish short- and long-term rehabilitation goals according to an individualized patient treatment plan and measure the progress or lack of progress in achieving these goals while working directly with a patient. OT job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide therapy treatment to patients in their homes as prescribed by a physician
Select appropriate assessment tools and methods in order to accurately determine the patient’s status for developing an optimal treatment plan
Assess the educational needs of patients, families, and implement a variety of methods for patient/family education and training during the rehabilitation process
