POSITION SUMMARY:The Local Programming Coordinator will be in charge of the organization and running of the facility's sports and non-sports programs, including leagues, tournaments, after-school programs, and any other programs held. The Local Programming Coordinator will work closely with other departments to assist in hiring, training, management, and staff scheduling. The Coordinator will work closely with the individual leaders of each program as well as other internal departments (Operations, Marketing, etc.) in order to successfully accomplish these responsibilities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Coordinate the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of youth and adult leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, and other local programming under the direction of facility leadershipCoordinate administrative processes for assigned programs, including registration, rosters, divisions, schedules, standings, participant records, rules, and program guidelinesCoordinate facility and program schedules based on availability, participation, tournaments, rentals, association usage, maintenance needs, and other facility activitiesServe as a primary point of contact for participants, parents, coaches, officials, instructors, and program partners by providing timely information regarding schedules, rules, weather, cancellations, and other program detailsRecruit and coordinate officials, instructors, coaches, and program staff in collaboration with facility leadership to ensure programs are appropriately staffed and preparedTrack registration, participation, revenue, expenses, retention, and overall program performance; provide regular updates and recommendations to facility leadershipAssist with preparing program budgets and monitoring program-related revenue and expenses, including staffing, supplies, officials, and other operating costsCoordinate with Marketing to promote programming, increase participation, and identify potential programming opportunities based on community interest, participation trends, and facility availabilityProvide on-site program support and supervision by addressing participant concerns, scheduling conflicts, rule questions, and operational needs, escalating issues to facility leadership when appropriateBuild and maintain relationships with local schools, youth sports organizations, community groups, instructors, and other programming partnersSupport the hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of part-time programming staff in collaboration with facility leadershipServe as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned and in accordance with facility proceduresPerform other duties as assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's or bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management, event management, education, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered1-2 years of experience in recreation, sports programming, community programming, event management, hospitality, education, facility operations, or a related field preferredMust have proven track record of developing, marketing, and selling recreation and training programsMust have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skillsMust be a team playerMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidaysMust possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified periodExperience coaching/teaching both youth and adult sportsWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 50 pounds' waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bendWill be required to operate a computerFacility has intermittent noise
