Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local/Regional Truck Driver to transport goods efficiently and safely within a designated local and/or regional area. The Local/Regional Truck Driver will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining accurate logs, and complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong driving record, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to customer service and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 8 flatbed trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently throughout assigned local and/or regional routes
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and delivered safely
- Maintain accurate electronic or paper logs in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel
- Adhere to delivery schedules while following all traffic laws and safety procedures
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or delays promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned equipment
- Handle shipping documents, bills of lading, and delivery confirmations accurately
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during pickups and deliveries
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements
- Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed
- Self-motivated
- Positive attitude
- Attention to detail and precision
- Experience with Plexus ERP is preferred
- Schedule: Home nightly with the occasional regional (overnight) route
