Responsibilities
Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. PTAs help students recover from injuries and illnesses by implementing programs to help regain movement and manage pain. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execute student’s individual plan of care determined by Physical Therapist with daily exercises
- Use a variety of techniques to treat students, such as massages and stretching
- Prepare written materials documenting students’ activities and progress, establishing an educational program, and file in compliance with state and federal mandates
- Educate student and family members for at-home care
Certifications
- Associate Degree
- State APTA License
