Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field

Certifications Requirements:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Respiratory Therapist (RT) credential or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) license

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
  • Proficiency in using HMS/MedHost EMR system
  • Experience with updraft therapy, blood gases, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, and EKGs

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, sometimes being the only RT on site
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Must be comfortable working in rotating 36/48 hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends

  • Provide respiratory care services, including updraft therapy, blood gases, BIPAP/CPAP, and ventilator management
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust treatments accordingly
  • Document patient care activities accurately in HMS/MedHost EMR system
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory therapies and equipment usage
