Position Details

POSITION DETAILS

• Drivers will shuttle frozen groceries (S&S Loads) in a reefer trailer from Westfield, MA facility to our relay yards in Milford, CT or West Haven CT.

• Could also include store transfers, trailer moves, or local backhaul pick ups

• Shuttle's are drop and hook and no touch.

• When shuttling drivers can do anywhere from 5-10 shuttle's a day depending on what distribution location they are going to.

• Minimum of 3 shutttles a day is required

• Shuttle drivers will NOT deliver in NYC.

• Trucks will be slip seated. The account will try to keep the drivers in the same trks but they will be sharing with a driver on an opposite shift. There is no guarantee however so the drivers should expect to slip seat.

• Automatic trucks that cannot be taken home for time off. Drivers must have reliable transportation to and from work daily.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• DVRS MAIN JOB IS SHUTTLING HOWEVER THEY COULD BE ASKED TO MAKE SUPERMARKET DELIVERIES AS NEEDED OR ASSIST INTERMODAL AND OTHER DCS ACCOUNTS.

• When delivering to stores loads will be multistop, usually 2-3 stops per trailer. They also could require unloading with an electric pallet jack.

• Also when delivering to stores drivers could have return product at the final stop or pick up a backhaul back to the DC

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

• Drivers will work Holidays if it is their scheduled day to work unless the account is not running that Holiday.

• Uniforms are provided and maintained by the the account

• Drivers must be willing to operate safely and legally at all times.

• Drivers should understand the importance of customer service and have good customer service skills.

• Drivers should know how to do a pre-trip inspection

• Drivers will be expected to inspect the tractor and trailer tires

Job Details:

• $50 daily rate if all days worked
• $19 - $20.50 per non-lift gate stop
• $30 - $31.50 per stop for deliveries into NYC boroughs
• $23 -$24.50 per stop for non-NYC
• $30 - $31.50 per stop for Boston deliveries
• $100 if a layover occurs
• $15 per hour detention pay (after 1st hour)
• New hire training: $200 per day
• Holiday pay: $160 per day
• Drivers in this position over the last six to twelve months have achieved annualized earnings of $70,000
