    Description

    Role Objective
The Locality Experts program is designed to improve the freshness and accuracy of all Auto data attributes. This will be achieved by establishing a Locality Expert who is knowledgeable about local conditions, policies, and country-wide changes, and can proactively build a pipeline of real-world updates.

    Core tasks:

    • Conduct market research on trends in the Auto industry
    • P0: Speed limits, EVCS
    • P1: Other ADAS features
    • Collaborate with the policy team on policy creation and provide local context.
    • Perform meta-QC and random checks to identify quality issues.
    • Create country-level quality metrics and conduct in-country drives to provide feedback and data to client working groups.
    • Act as the country owner for queries from other teams, including basemap features (excluding Transit).
    • Curate region-specific implicit/statutory speed limits and rules
    • (e.g., arterials in a town should be 20 vs. a statewide rule of 30).
    • Research news articles and notices from government, highways, or other agencies regarding scheduled maintenance/repairs.
    • Identify edge cases (e.g., unique sign variations, urban area polygon logic) and gaps in algorithms.
    • Provide input to proactively prioritize issues using local knowledge
    • e.g., which missing signs cause the biggest problems, which errors impact users the most.
    • Support proactive outreach with government and transit authorities to understand upcoming changes or systemic data issues
    • (to be clarified with Outreach & Partnerships, who own data collection/feeds).
    • Support partnerships and outreach teams with local knowledge and context.
    • Consult on all sign types to provide local interpretation and understanding.
    • Assist with quality assurance and country certification processes to ensure the highest quality level is reached and maintained.

    Experience / Skills Required

    • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry, urban planning, traffic/transit/signage, or similar fields.
    • Strong understanding of market research methodologies and techniques.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the local language and English.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
