Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Localization Manager to lead and support our customer’s enterprise Translation Program, serving Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs teams across the U.S.

This role will own the localization program end-to-end, including linguistic assets, vendor relationships, technology integrations, quality frameworks, budgets, and operational strategy supporting omnichannel content across 15+ product brands.

The Localization Manager will work at the intersection of localization operations, multilingual content strategy, pharmaceutical commercialization, and AI/ML-enabled technology. A key focus will be evolving translation workflows to support next-generation GenAI and machine translation capabilities while maintaining regulatory compliance, translation quality, brand consistency, and health literacy standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete localization lifecycle from intake and project scoping through Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review.
• Manage localization for omnichannel content, including print, digital, social media, email, web, SEO/SEM, campaigns, and Medical/Government Affairs materials.
• Support multilingual content requirements across 15+ product brands.
• Manage strategic relationships with Language Service Providers (LSPs) and specialized content production agencies.
• Oversee program budgets, contracts, vendor performance, SLAs, and vendor evaluations.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Define, track, and report program KPIs, including translation quality, cost efficiency, operational performance, and speed-to-market.
• Develop executive reporting mechanisms that provide cross-functional visibility into overall program performance.
• Identify operational gaps and develop modern localization workflows and technology integrations.
• Integrate localization capabilities into the broader enterprise content architecture.
• Partner with Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, Access, Product, Engineering, and external creative agencies and studios.
• Support localization readiness for new product launches.
• Drive pilot programs and establish best practices for AI-powered localization, including machine translation and LLM integrations.
• Develop scalable and repeatable localization workflows in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
• Govern linguistic assets, termbases, translation resources, and language data.
• Support Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) translation workflows designed to increase speed and volume without compromising compliance or quality.
• Deliver program updates, trade-off analyses, and strategic recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Establish structured decision-making processes for complex localization challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation/Localization, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience managing enterprise localization programs.
• Strong knowledge of localization file formats and Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
• Experience with enterprise Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as XTM, Phrase, Smartling, GlobalLink, or similar platforms.
• Proven experience developing and managing translation quality frameworks.
• Experience managing linguistic assets, terminology, and language data governance.
• Understanding of machine translation and LLM-enabled localization workflows with Human-in-the-Loop review.
• Experience managing external localization vendors and Language Service Providers.
• Strong program management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build processes and operational infrastructure in evolving or ambiguous environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendor partners.
• Ability to work standard business hours in the Pacific Time Zone.

Preferred Qualifications

• Localization experience within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience supporting regulated pharmaceutical or medical content.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience with multimedia localization, including video subtitling, voiceover, and dynamic social content.
• Exposure to Veeva.
• Experience building a Localization Center of Excellence (CoE) or scaling an enterprise translation program.
• Practical experience implementing machine translation, AI-assisted translation, or GenAI/LLM localization workflows.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish.
• Experience localizing content specifically for the U.S. Spanish-speaking market.
