Locator

Locator’s responsibilities include:

• Confirm bore path with install foreman and drill operator (including walking the bore path).
• Perform job site analysis (JSA) including completion of paperwork.
• Ensure there are proper clearances to install the product per standards.
• Record the depth of the tool head as required.
• Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product.
• Oversee laborers and/or crew member’s work and monitor time usage.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3 years of Horizontal Directional Drill experience
• 5 years of experience with mini excavator, backhoe, other machinery or as a utility locator
• Valid driver’s license;
• Must have a CDL Class A driver’s licenses
• Clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with different size Vermeer or Ditch Witch units and various brands of locating equipment;
• Working experience of underground construction and Fiber builds;
• City, County and State clearance code knowledge and related;
• Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for project build process;
• Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and work overtime as required.
