Job Duties
- Maintaining locking systems which provide security for the facility.
- Efficient repair and maintenance of all locks within the facility.
- Provide necessary repair and preventive maintenance for locking systems and devices at this facility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in the repair, installation, and maintenance of locks and locking systems, preferably within a secure or institutional environment, is essential.
- The role requires considerable knowledge of lock mechanisms, locking systems, and related security hardware.
- Skill in using a variety of hand and power tools commonly used for lock maintenance.
- Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing corrective repairs, and completing preventive maintenance to ensure the continued reliability of all facility locking devices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications related to locking systems is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and attention to detail to support the facilitys safety and security through timely and effective lock maintenance and repair.
Additional Considerations
- Experience in repairing and maintaining locks and locking systems in secure or institutional settings.
- Locksmithing courses, trade school training, or certifications related to mechanical or security hardware.
- Experience in correctional facilities or other institutions using high-security locking systems along with related trades experience such as carpentry, metalwork, or mechanical maintenance.
