Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lockbox Transaction Processor to support high-volume payment and document processing operations in Dallas, TX.
This is an entry-level, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who is accurate, dependable, comfortable performing repetitive processing work, and able to meet daily productivity and quality standards.
Previous banking, lockbox, or item-processing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from document processing, mailroom, scanning, payment processing, data entry, administrative processing, or similar high-volume environments may also be a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Process lockbox transactions accurately and within established deadlines.
- Receive, sort, count, and distribute incoming mail.
- Open envelopes and extract checks, invoices, coupons, and other transaction documents.
- Batch checks and supporting documentation according to client instructions.
- Follow detailed account-specific processing procedures.
- Scan checks and documents using high-speed document scanning equipment.
- Re-associate check images with corresponding supporting documents.
- Process outgoing mail and related documentation.
- Verify assigned transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform high-volume processing while meeting established productivity and quality standards.
- Follow banking security procedures, operational controls, and client requirements.
- Identify and escalate processing problems before they affect client deadlines.
- Assist with additional administrative and operations functions as needed.
The operation uses OPEX Falcon high-speed document scanners and involves mail sorting, check processing, batching, document scanning, and transaction processing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous banking operations, lockbox, item processing, payment processing, mailroom, document processing, or data-entry experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and client instructions.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- 10-key and data-entry experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attendance.
- Ability to work additional hours with limited notice when processing volumes require it.
- Good communication and decision-making skills.
