Description:

The Lockshop Maintenance Assistant performs semiskilled maintenance, installation, and field service for mechanical and electronic locking systems across all SUU campus facilities. This position ensures university infrastructure remains safe, operational, and secure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service at the lock shop front desk.
  • Receive, log, and process key requests.
  • Assist with work order entry, tracking, and record keeping.
  • Shadow technicians on basic hardware and door maintenance tasks.
  • Learn shop safety, tool usage, and foundational locksmithing concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment as Southern Utah University
  • Microsoft Word and Google Application capable
  • Mechanical aptitude helpful
  • Customer service skills
