Join Our Team as a Locum Cardiovascular NP/PA in Jackson, MI – Make a Difference in Cardiac Care!

Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a passion for cardiovascular medicine? Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Locum NP/PA to provide exceptional care in the fast-paced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading healthcare provider in a dynamic environment, offering flexible full-time coverage with potential for ongoing PRN assignments.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide autonomous patient care in a Level II Trauma Center’s CVICU, caring for vascular and post-CV surgery patients.
  • Perform critical procedures including chest tube removals, thoracentesis, placement of central lines, dialysis catheters, arterial lines, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of intensivists and APPs, with onsite supervision during the day.
  • Manage a patient census of 8-12 in an IP/hospital setting, ensuring top-quality outcomes.
  • Work 12-hour shifts (including weekends, nights, and weekdays) in a supportive environment that values your expertise.
  • Participate in program expansion and maternity leave coverage in an evolving department.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Current NP or PA license eligible in Michigan.
  • Prior experience in cardiovascular or critical care settings.
  • Proficient in critical procedures such as chest tube placement, vascular access, and intra-aortic balloon pump management.
  • Strong autonomous practice skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

Additional Skills That Are a Bonus:
  • Experience with EPIC EMR systems.
  • Ability to assist with weekend CV surgery consults.
  • Additional certifications in critical care or advanced cardiovascular procedures.

Ideal Education & Experience:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in a hospital or ICU setting.
  • Previous experience with cardiovascular patient populations preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Credentialing timeframe of approximately 90-120 days.
  • Willingness to travel for credentialing and licensing processes.
  • Proof of licensure, certifications, and compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • No call requirement; scheduled shifts and procedures only.
