LOCUM Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Davenport, Iowa

Inpatient Psychiatry | Full-Time Schedule | Adult & Adolescent Behavioral Health

365 Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a full-time locum tenens opportunity at a regional behavioral health program in Davenport, Iowa. This inpatient position offers a collaborative multidisciplinary practice, predictable scheduling, call responsibilities, and the opportunity to care for both adult and adolescent behavioral health patients. Schedule

• Full-time assignment (20–22 shifts per month)

• Monday–Friday schedule

• One weekend per month

• Day call: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1:3 rotation)

• Night call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM (1:4 rotation)

• Weekend call: 1:4 rotation

• Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 30–90 days

Practice Overview

• Inpatient Behavioral Health program

• 36-bed behavioral health unit

  • 28 Adult beds

  • 8 Adolescent beds (ages 8–17)

• Hospital-based consult service

• Collaborative practice with Psychiatrists and Advanced Practice Providers

• Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic)

• Level III Trauma Center

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric admissions and evaluations

• Complete psychiatric histories and physical examinations

• Daily inpatient rounding

• Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions

• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications

• Order and interpret diagnostic studies

• Coordinate care with supervising psychiatrists

• Complete hospital consultations

• Order referrals and treatment plans

• Provide addiction education and management

• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning

Patient Population

• Adults and adolescents (ages 8–17)

• Average daily census: 18 patients

• Average provider census: 10–15 patients per day

• Typical inpatient length of stay: 3–5 days

Requirements

• Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

• Active Iowa NP license

• Previous inpatient psychiatry experience required

• New graduates cannot be considered

• Ability to start as soon as credentialed
