LOCUM Hematology/Oncology Physician – Grand Rapids, Michigan

Hematology-Focused Practice | Outpatient Clinic + Inpatient Consults | Full-Time

365 Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This full-time assignment offers a balanced mix of outpatient hematology, inpatient consults, and shared after-hours call within a collaborative cancer program. Competitive compensation, malpractice coverage, and travel and lodging coverage are provided.

This long-term assignment is available through December 2026.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday clinic coverage
• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Shared after-hours call (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Call rotation: 1:5 with APP support
• Full-time assignment

Practice Overview

• Comprehensive Cancer Center attached to the hospital
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Approximately 90% hematology and less than 10% solid tumor oncology
• Practice includes both malignant and benign hematology
• Six Hematology/Oncology physicians
• Radiation Oncology services onsite
• Epic EMR
• Teaching hospital
• Estimated credentialing: 90–120 days

Clinical Responsibilities

• Outpatient hematology clinic
• Inpatient hematology and oncology consultations
• Infusion center oversight
• Shared after-hours call coverage
• Management of malignant and benign hematologic disorders
• Occasional solid tumor patient coverage as needed
• Participation in multidisciplinary tumor board
• Order diagnostic testing and imaging
• Prescribe and manage treatment plans
• Documentation utilizing Epic EMR

Procedural Scope

Providers should be comfortable performing:

• Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)
• Biopsy procedures
• Evaluation and management of benign hematologic disorders
• Management of malignant hematologic diseases
• Inpatient hematology consultations
• Outpatient hematology care

This community-based practice does not perform bone marrow transplantation (BMT) or other advanced academic-center therapies.

Support Structure

• Six Hematology/Oncology physicians
• Five inpatient APPs covering two hospitals
• Six outpatient APPs
• Radiation Oncology collaboration
• Infusion center
• Onsite imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Active Michigan license preferred (licensing candidates welcome)
• BLS Certification
• Experience in both malignant and benign hematology
