Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology-Oncology in Pontiac, MI

McLaren Oakland is looking for a skilled Locum Physician to provide vital outpatient clinic coverage in Pontiac, MI. What You'll Need:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Hematology and Oncology
  • Valid Michigan medical license or ability to obtain one
  • Proven experience in outpatient Hematology and Oncology care
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Cerner
  • Strong clinical skills in hematology and oncology outpatient management
  • Ability to participate in tumor board discussions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Flexibility to cover scheduled days and clinic call as needed

Nice to Have:
  • Prior experience in a tumor board environment
  • Knowledge of infusion center procedures
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary outpatient oncology teams
  • Bilingual abilities or additional languages

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Completion of residency and fellowship in Hematology-Oncology
  • Minimum of 2+ years of post-training outpatient clinical experience
  • Experience working in a collaborative outpatient setting

Other Requirements:
  • Coverage dates: January 19, 2026, through July 31, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • On-call coverage for clinic patients only
  • Approximately 15-20 outpatient patients per day
  • Support staff includes oncology RNs, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators
  • Willingness to adhere to McLaren's policies on travel, reimbursement, and documentation
