Position Overview

HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Trauma / Acute Care Surgeon for locum tenens coverage in Longview, Washington.

This opportunity combines restricted in-house weekday coverage with unrestricted overnight, weekend, and holiday call. The physician will provide General Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, and Level III trauma coverage in a 193-bed acute care hospital.

The physician will be responsible for both rounding and admissions and should be comfortable independently managing acute surgical and trauma patients. During nights and weekends, the locum physician may be the sole surgeon providing coverage. Surgical PA support is available during weekday daytime hours.

Assignment Highlights

  • Approximately 0.5 FTE coverage requested
  • Exact dates are not yet established; submit availability
  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • 24-hour call shifts may also be scheduled
  • Monday–Friday daytime coverage is restricted/in-house call
  • Weekend, holiday, and applicable overnight coverage is unrestricted call
  • Unrestricted call requires a 10-minute telephone response
  • Physician must remain within 30 minutes of the hospital while on unrestricted call
  • Level III trauma and acute care surgery
  • 193-bed acute care hospital
  • Rounding and admissions required
  • Surgical PA support Monday–Friday during daytime hours
  • Physician may work independently during nights and weekends
  • Epic EMR
  • Active Washington license required
