What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Virginia
- Board certification or board eligibility in OB/GYN
- Proven experience with obstetric and gynecologic procedures including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Ability to work independently and team effectively in a hospital environment
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous locum or temporary physician experience
- Familiarity with high-risk pregnancy management in collaboration with MFM specialists
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
- Experience in outpatient clinic settings
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of OB/GYN practice experience
- Prior experience with inpatient delivery and postpartum care
- Knowledge of hospitalist protocols and emergency procedures
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to cover both hospital call and clinic shifts as needed
- Ability to commit to the specified dates from May through July, with potential ongoing assignments
- Must have or be eligible for VA licensure; credentialing typically takes 60-90 days (temporary privileges may be available for qualified providers)
- Local candidates preferred; competitive rates available for travel
