Join Our Team as a Locum OB Hospitalist in Waverly, IA – Make a Difference in Women's Healthcare!
Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist looking to expand your impact in a vibrant community? We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician to provide exceptional obstetric and gynecologic care at our Waverly, IA facility. This dynamic locum role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, managing a diverse range of cases, while enjoying competitive compensation and outstanding support.
What You'll Do:
- Cover OB hospitalist duties including deliveries, triage, and gynecologic emergencies
- Provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and women in need of GYN services
- Manage approximately 13+ patient encounters daily, with an average of 1-4 deliveries per shift
- Collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Handle clinic and call responsibilities as part of the MHAS model
Required Skills:
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Valid medical license to practice in Iowa
- Proven clinical expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, and hospitalist duties
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently under pressure
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in high-volume maternity settings
- Familiarity with Level 1 NICU protocols
- Proficiency in EMR systems (system to be determined)
- Additional certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Prior locum or hospitalist experience preferred but not required
- At least 2 years of obstetric practice
Other Requirements:
- Availability to start on 12/31/2025
- Willingness to work clinic and call shifts (MHAS model)
- Must comply with all licensure and certification requirements
- Ability to work in Waverly, IA for the duration of the assignment
