Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (Locum)

California | PM Shift (3:00 PM – 1:00 AM) | Multiple Coverage Dates

ATC Locums is seeking two experienced Trauma Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to join a high-acuity trauma service at a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in California.
 

Position Highlights

  • Specialty: Trauma Surgery
  • Profession: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Openings: 2
  • Shift:3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
  • Patient Population: Primarily adult trauma patients with few to no pediatric patients
  • Location: California
  • Travel: Local candidates strongly preferred (no flights provided)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor patients on the trauma service
  • Evaluate, treat, and coordinate patient care
  • Assist with admissions, ongoing management, and discharges
  • Collaborate closely with the on-call Trauma Surgeon
  • Work alongside one additional Trauma NP/PA on the PM shift

Qualifications

Required

  • NCCPA (PA) or ANCC (NP) Certification
  • Active California License
    • NPs must have a California Furnishing Number
    • PAs must have completed the California Controlled Substance Education Course (CSEC)
  • Active California DEA
  • Current ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications
  • Availability at the time of name clear
  • Must be actively practicing at a Joint Commission (TJC)-accredited hospital

Highly Preferred

  • Clean malpractice and background history
  • Local California provider (no flights)
