Locum Veterinarian - PT or FT - Texas

Work hard. Explore harder. Set your schedule — and keep your freedom. CareVet is looking for Locum Veterinarians in the great state of Texas.  Premium pay option range up to $100–$135/hr (benefits or no benefit option), paid travel and total flexibility

CareVet’s Traveling DVM program gives experienced veterinarians the flexibility they crave with the stability, support, and earning power they deserve. It’s travel nursing for veterinarians — but with more autonomy and a schedule designed around your life.

 

Pick Your Ideal Rotation

• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off — average 20 hours per week
• 3 weeks on / 1 week off — perfect for those who like longer stretches of work and play.

Both options are available. We'll work around you.

Compensation & Coverage

• Up to $135/hr | Part-time, no benefits
• Up to $100/hr | Full time with benefits
• $2,500 annual CE stipend + CE time paid
• Professional dues and state license fees covered by CareVet
• Flight and hotel covered, per diem for meals

New locations are added regularly as our network grows.

The Medicine

CareVet hospitals are equipped with industry-leading diagnostics and treatment capabilities. You'll have the tools to practice the kind of medicine you went to school for — and the autonomy to do it your way.

 

We don't run protocol binders. We trust our DVMs to make the right call for each patient. Our role is to provide guidance, network-level clinical outcomes data, and support — not to override your judgment.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
