Pacific Rim Log Scaling Bureau, Inc. is an independent third party scaling organization that provides certified log scaling services to customers throughout Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. The Company has been a key scaling service provider to the forest product industry since 1912.
Job Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Sound math skills and aptitude a must
- Forestry education/industry experience desired
- Basic computer knowledge
- Willing to work outdoors
- Willing to relocate
- Valid driver license required

Job Description:
- Apply prescribed log scaling rules to determine product based volume of logs, enter log/timber source data, log measurements, and other log data into a handheld computer
- Maintain organized document control at the scaling site
- Communicate with customers, colleagues, and other staff in a positive team structure
This is an entry level position unless the applicant has 1 year or more previous log scaling experience. The position is scaler trainee, which includes wages and benefits. Upon completing training program, 30 to 180 days, the employee enters the bargaining unit as an Apprentice Scaler with competitive compensation, benefits, and the start to a lifelong career.
