    Department Overview

    Position Summary

    Logistical Planners are responsible for ensuring materials areavailable at the right place at the right time and in the correctquantities. Planners maintain proper inventory levels at PG&E'swarehouses and coordinate with external suppliers to ensure material isavailable for shovel-ready execution of maintenance, repair andconstruction work for PG&E's gas and electric asset infrastructure.

    Job Responsibilities

    Sets inventory levels in accordance with inventory turns targets for assigned commodities for major commodities.Presents findings and makes recommendations to management.Plans and coordinates with purchasing, internal clients, and suppliers on stock replenishment and future material requirements for major commodities.Follows-up with clients on changes in material delivery, and works with key clients to identify and address potential shortages for their jobs and to prioritize expediting for major commodities.Manages inventory levels for working, safety, emergency and storm stocks for major commodities.Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.Leads low to medium complexity process improvement initiatives under the guidance of Black Belt.Acts as a liaison between various departments and lines of businesses.Communicates with suppliers on any supplier schedule changes and in updating SAP purchase order records.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    Bachelors Degree or equivalent experienceExperience in supply chain, or related, 5 years

    Desired:

    Masters Degree or equivalent experienceExperience in supply chain, or related, 7 yearsAPICS-American Production and Inventory Control Society CPIM-Certified Production and Inventory Management certification
