The Logistician will manage property accountability and shipping/receiving actions in support of the four transportable telemetry systems (TTS), two of which are housed at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). The two other systems are sea-based and reside on ships docked in Portland, OR.

Additionally, the role will support WSMR-specific logistical requirements in support of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Flight Tests, including warehouse maintenance, the relocation of equipment/instrumentation, maintaining and/or servicing mobile power generators, coordinating with/assisting customer representatives, and supporting all facility-related maintenance actions. The candidate will also coordinate with staff regarding relocation and transportation arrangements to ensure that supplies, equipment, and material needed to support missions are in the right place at the right time to meet all objectives. Candidate will bring a strong understanding of DoW logistics and a "can do" attitude to support unique challenges related to testing advanced weapon systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Categorizes, classifies, arranges, and maintains all aspects of the warehouse space (this may involve occasional operation of heavy machinery such as forklifts).
  • Manages all shipping and receiving activity
  • Prepares and maintains proper documentation for the temporary transfer of property ownership, as per the Government's policies and guidelines (typically during repair activities) - assists the team, as well as OEM vendors, with the tracking of all repair actions and equipment status
  • Assists the team with performing market research, collecting budgetary quotes, and generating purchase request (PR) actions
  • Maintains the TTS property accountability database while assisting with property management and accountability (conducting inventories, supporting property audits, preparing documentation on all matters concerning property accountability)
  • Coordinates with WSMR Installation Support, Missile Defense Agency (MDA) logistics support, Fort Bliss, and other supply sources as required
  • Facilitates and/or assists with preventive and routine maintenance on equipment such as mobile power generators, forklifts, man-lifts, and vehicles. This will require interfacing with vendors and the capacity to execute simple mechanical procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of logistics, including working knowledge of the following: physical security policies/procedures, installation supply, and property accountability, and database management (Access/Excel)
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Position will require extensive travel, typically 25% with surges up to 50%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and supervising a team in a warehouse environment
  • 5+ years of experience supporting all levels of logistics in a federal government-owned installation or a missile test range
  • Mechanically inclined and natural problem solver/fixer
  • Knowledge and experience with trailers, large trucks, hitches, and transporting equipment.
