The Logistics Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the logistics and supply chain functions. This role involves preparing documentation, inputting, updating, and maintaining information in a company’s database or computer systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential for keeping accurate and up-to-date logistics records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Entering data from source documents into prescribed databases, spreadsheets, or systems.
- Verifying accuracy and completeness of data before input
- Generate, gather, and maintain transportation quote data.
- Communication status/confirmation of pickups and deliveries.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and couriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Manage internal and external communications regarding delivery schedules and order status.
- Prepare shipping documentation such as invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading if needed.
- Track shipments and update clients or suppliers on the status of their deliveries.
- Assist in the maintenance and generating reports or summaries using logistics software (e.g., MRP, Excel, Power BI).
- Evaluating quotes and identify variances between quoted freight costs to actual billed costs.
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Assist in additional team tasks as they are created and/or required, with the intent on supporting and driving towards company goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or business administration is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with data entry software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, or industry-specific programs).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay Range: $20 - $25/hr. (Salary commensurate with experience)
