Description

SAIC is seeking a skilled, analytical, and proactive Logistics / DMSMS Analyst DMSMS Analyst to identify, investigate, and resolve diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) issues in critical systems.

The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop strategic solutions that mitigate supply chain risk, extend the lifecycle of systems, and ensure program readiness. In this role, the DMSMS Analyst will be assigned multiple systems to support PMA 262 (MQ-4C Triton) and PMA 290 (P-8A Poseidon) customers. This includes actively collaborating with stakeholders across these program offices to ensure sustainment success and long-term viability of assigned platforms. Furthermore, the analyst will be responsible for building and delivering comprehensive bi-annual DMSMS reports tailored to program requirements. The DMSMS Analyst will actively monitor component obsolescence, analyze its impact, and propose actionable solutions to ensure mission readiness and sustainment goals are achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Obsolescence Analysis: Analyze parts, components, and materials for obsolescence risks using technical databases, specialized software, market research, and supplier engagement tools (e.g., PDMLink, Q-Star, Haystack, BOM Manager).
  • Monitor Industry Trends: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, supplier production statuses, and end-of-life (EOL) notifications to proactively address risks impacting equipment components.
  • Manage DMSMS for Triton & Poseidon: Oversee the management and sustainment of multiple Triton and Poseidon systems, addressing Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) challenges across platforms.
  • Evaluate Bills of Materials: Assess program Bills of Materials (BoMs) for Triton and Poseidon systems to identify high-risk components, manufacturers, and potential vulnerabilities affecting program success.
  • Develop Mitigation Strategies: Create and implement strategies for managing obsolescence risks, including last-time buys (LTB), alternative parts sourcing, design modifications, or emulation technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with PMA 262 and PMA 290, engineering teams, and supply chain management to assess and implement feasible alternative solutions for obsolescence issues.
  • Deliver Risk Analysis Reports: Generate and present bi-annual DMSMS reports that outline risk assessments, impact evaluations, and mitigation strategies tailored to Triton and Poseidon stakeholders' requirements.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain and update DMSMS management plans, risk registers, and status reports, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines, DoD standards, and program-specific requirements.
  • Support Planning & Communication: Provide expert obsolescence management support to program offices and senior leadership, including participating in long-term planning and delivering regular status updates, briefings, and project reports.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead cross-functional collaboration to implement process enhancements, integrate new DMSMS technologies, and maintain robust documentation for decision support tools and analyses.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and 5 years or more experience; Masters and 3 years of related experience 3-5 years preferred in DMSMS field Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of War (DoW) programs with a focus on program offices such as MQ-4C Triton or P-8A Poseidon.

  • 3+ years of experience in DMSMS Analyst, developing and/or reviewing BOMs, developing DMSMS cases, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of government procurement practices, defense logistics, and sustainment planning.

  • Understanding of BOMs and Engineering Drawings. Experience with Change Control processes.

  • Previous experience in a procurement/material coordinator/project analyst type role.

  • Familiarity with engineering and technical tools used in prototype development and testing.

  • Current Secret Security Clearance.

  • Ability to work nicely within a small team.

  • Ability to stay extremely organized with a high sense of urgency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting NAVAIR workload.

  • Experience in supporting government programs.

  • Knowledge of government contracts and agreements and how policies interact with the supply chain.

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics/DMSMS.

  • Department of Defense (DOD)/ Department of War (DoW) background.
