Summary

The "Logistics Analyst" is responsible for operational logistics process to handle domestic & International shipping based on sales / service orders and perform additional Logistics functions as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Domestic and International shipments coordination and managing transportation of goods from suppliers / third parties to the Voith facilities and from the Voith Facilities to customers/suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintaining shipment records in accordance with Voith & Customer regulation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies/procedures
• Managing Carriers and logistics service providers / forwarders, provide feedback, resolving and mitigating claims / damaged materials.
• Monitoring logistics costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing measures to improve efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
• Identifying potential risks in the logistics process, such as disruptions in supply chain or transportation delays, and developing contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
• Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, customs requirements, and other legal obligations related to logistics operations.
• Coordinating with other departments within the organization, such as purchasing, sales, and customer service, to align logistics activities with business objectives and customer requirements.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
• Develop and maintain logistics reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance.
• Review & Process Transportation Invoices and ensure costs are charged to correct profit centers / Product groups. Conduct a cost-benefit analysis to evaluate logistics initiatives and recommend cost-saving strategies.
• Utilize logistics software and tools to streamline processes and enhance visibility across the supply chain.

• The ability to analyze logistics data (transportation costs, transit time and delivery performance), enables logistics team to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in logistics operations.
• Effective communication is essential for collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and logistics service providers, conveying information clearly and resolving issues promptly to ensure efficient logistics operations.
• Position must be adaptable and flexible in responding to changes in logistics requirements, such as fluctuating demand, supply chain disruptions, and evolving customer needs, to adjust logistics operations accordingly and maintain service levels.
• Prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and working efficiently under pressure are essential skills for this position to manage time-sensitive logistics operations and must ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Must possess strong customer service skills to address customer needs, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships with customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent combined education and experience. 5-7 years direct supply chain work experience in Heavy Industry, Rail business or equivalent industry.
• Good knowledge of Procurement process including Purchasing, Expediting, risk mitigation, market analysis and selecting the right source strategy etc. Understands integrated supply chain and logistic concepts.
• Working knowledge of one or more of the following categories: Fabrication, Machining, Castings & Forgings, Bearings, Electrical & Automation, Gearboxes, Plant Utilities
• Technical background or experience with strong mechanical aptitude including Solid understanding and ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and production schedules.
• Good knowledge and understanding of legal, financial, and commercial terms.
• Strong communication skills, adequately addressing all internal & external stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of business tools such as SAP, Navision, and Microsoft office products
