Logistics Analyst

SUMMARY

The Logistics Analyst provides analytical and operational support to logistics and supply chain functions by transforming facility, shipping, and performance data into timely, actionable information. This role executes and maintains data queries, macros, and reporting tools; analyzes key performance indicators and operational discrepancies; supports structured problem solving and issue containment; and develops reporting used by operational and senior leadership. The position partners cross-functionally to improve data accuracy, visibility, workflow effectiveness, and on-time shipping performance, while supporting continuous improvement and kaizen activities across logistics operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes logistics, shipping, and facility performance data to identify trends, exceptions, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Executes and validates macros, database queries, and recurring analytical processes used to capture and measure key operational performance indicators.
• Develops, maintains, and enhances reporting tools, dashboards, and daily performance summaries that provide actionable information to operational and senior leadership.
• Partners with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to break down performance issues, isolate areas of concern, and support timely containment and problem-solving activities.
• Evaluates data discrepancies and reporting exceptions, determines contributing factors, and implements improvements to local tools, processes, and reporting controls.
• Coordinates the timely distribution of operational performance results to stakeholders to support decision-making, prioritization, and execution against customer requirements.
• Collects and evaluates business reporting needs and translates operational requirements into new or enhanced analytical tools and reporting solutions.
• Leads and supports kaizen and continuous-improvement activities focused on logistics processes, reporting effectiveness, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborates across logistics, operations, and other support functions to improve process visibility, standardization, and performance against key metrics.
• Monitors on-time shipping and other key performance indicators, escalating material risks, performance gaps, and recurring issues to appropriate leadership.
• Maintains cross-functional knowledge of Operations Support and supply chain processes to provide coverage, continuity, and analytical support across the team.
• Supports special projects and ad hoc analyses requiring independent judgment, data interpretation, and recommendations to improve logistics performance.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor''s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations analysis, business analysis, reporting, or a related operational environment preferred.
• Experience working with operational data, performance metrics, database queries, reporting tools, and/or advanced spreadsheet functionality strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, transportation, or high-volume logistics operations preferred.
• Experience participating in structured problem solving, continuous improvement, Lean, or kaizen activities preferred.

CORE KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex operational data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, pivot tables, and working with macros; experience with database queries and reporting tools preferred.
• Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain, warehouse, shipping, and operational performance concepts.
• Proven ability to diagnose problems using critical thinking, identify root causes, and recommend or implement practical solutions.
• Ability to develop clear, accurate reporting and communicate performance results to operational and senior leadership.
• Strong business acumen and ability to work effectively across Operations, Supply Chain, and other functional teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deliverables, changing priorities, and time-sensitive operational requirements.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, reporting integrity, and process discipline.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain data, trends, and operational issues to varied audiences.
• Continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, reporting, and operational efficiency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have any direct supervisory responsibilities. The role may lead analytical workstreams, coordinate cross-functional activities, and support continuous-improvement initiatives without direct people-management responsibility.

Salary Range: $32.93 - $41.20 per hour, depending on experience and geographic location.
