About the Role
We’re hiring a Transportation Planning Analyst to play a key role in managing the flow of goods from domestic vendors to distribution centers. This position is critical to ensuring products arrive efficiently and on time in a fast-paced retail supply chain environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate inbound transportation from vendors to distribution centers and consolidation points using a Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Source and assign freight to carriers to optimize cost, routing, and transit times
  • Evaluate routing solutions and recommend the most efficient transportation strategies
  • Optimize freight movement across multiple modes (Truckload, Intermodal, LTL, and limited parcel)
  • Enhance system-recommended solutions to improve load building and efficiency
  • Identify and develop backhaul and continuous move opportunities
  • Monitor carrier capacity and performance metrics (on-time delivery, EDI compliance, acceptance rates)
  • Collaborate with carriers, vendors, and internal logistics teams to ensure strong operational performance
  • Maintain consistent communication with core carriers and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze regional financials and KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Partner with merchandising teams to support high-priority and high-volume shipments
 
Qualifications
  • Experience in transportation planning, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret KPIs and financial data
  • Knowledge of freight modes including Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and parcel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
