Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Santa Ana, California.

Overview

The role involves monitoring and analyzing operational and financial indexes within a logistics environment, supporting supply chain coordination, and investigating claims to ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze key operational and financial indexes regularly.
  • Find root causes for discrepancies between actual performance and forecasts.
  • Analyze issues, prepare reports, and recommend actions as requested by team leadership.
  • Investigate claim requests to determine validity.
  • Communicate with vendors to recover on claims.
  • Gather and analyze claims-related documentation.
  • Support the preparation of ad-hoc reports.
  • Examine documents, materials, and products to assess completeness and accuracy.
  • Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine resource requirements.
  • Record production data including volume, raw material consumption, and quality control measures.
  • Revise production schedules as needed due to design changes or resource shortages.
  • Distribute schedules and work orders to relevant departments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, economics, business, finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in planning, risk management, or finance within a logistics environment (preferred).
  • Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with SAP and supply chain management or financial planning systems (highly desired).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PPT.
  • Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing or working with enterprise planning or financial systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
