Job description

Company is helping our client find a Logistics and Inventory Planner to coordinate and optimize supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective flow of materials.

In this role, you'll manage inventory levels, support purchasing and logistics activities, and collaborate cross-functionally to prevent disruptions and maintain continuity across manufacturing and service operations.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving supply chain challenges.

As a Logistics and Inventory Planner, you'll:
  • Determine material requirements and generate purchase orders aligned with production schedules.
  • Partner with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure consistent material availability.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying and mitigating delivery risks.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate and compliant documentation.
  • Optimize transportation methods and routing to balance cost efficiency with delivery timelines.
  • Maintain and update material planning and logistics master data to ensure system accuracy and visibility.
  • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages and out-of-stock risks.
  • Analyze supply chain variances, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory health and manage risks related to excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations to support supplier payments, production goals, and cost control initiatives.
  • Travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel, as needed.

Ideal candidate profile:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain planning.
  • Proven experience with purchasing, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • General understanding of freight forwarding and international logistics.
  • Proficiency with ERP, TMS, MRP systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Daily tasks
  • The Logistics and Inventory Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing all aspects of the supply chain to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage dynamic priorities that may extend beyond standard business hours.
  • The planner will oversee inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers and carriers, and proactively address time-sensitive issues to prevent delays and maintain business continuity.

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Background in demand planning or forecasting.
  • Experience interfacing with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Vendor and supplier negotiation.
  • Knowledge of customs, brokerage, and export compliance.
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification
