Logistics and Materials Flow Manager

Atlas Fibre | Northbrook, IL

Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 per year | Employment: Full-time, In-person

Address: 3411 Woodhead Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062

Your day at a glance

It’s 7:00 AM in our climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You review the ERP dashboard, confirm overnight receipts, and release pick slips for the morning wave. A carrier arrives on time—the bills of lading and certificates of conformance are accurate because your team followed the standards you set. Before 9:00, you huddle with production, procurement, and sales to align shipping schedules with build plans and customer delivery dates. Midday, you walk the dock for a 5S and safety check, verify cycle counts, and coach a new associate on international paperwork. By end of day, you’ve cleared outbound shipments, reconciled inventory discrepancies, and captured performance metrics for continuous improvement.

  • Leadership of shipping/receiving clerks and warehouse associates—scheduling, training, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Daily coordination with production, procurement, and sales to synchronize shipping schedules with manufacturing output and customer commitments.
  • Inventory integrity: reconcile shipping/receiving records, conduct cycle counts, and promptly resolve discrepancies.
  • Dock and warehouse standards: uphold safety, cleanliness, and OSHA compliance.
  • ERP/WMS utilization to track shipments, generate reports, and maintain accurate records (pick slips, bills of lading, certificates of conformance, and more).

What you bring

Required

  • 3–5+ years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Proven people leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong grasp of domestic and international freight regulations, customs documentation, and carrier compliance.
  • Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills; comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and familiarity with material handling equipment.
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.

Preferred

  • Previous inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or composites manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of composites and thermoset materials.
