Duration: 27 Weeks
Start Date: 07/27/2026
End Date: 01/29/2027
Shift/Schedule: 37.5 hours/week; 7.5 hours/day; Monday–Friday; 5 shifts.
Schedule options: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, or 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. Onsite.
Pay Range: $20-$22/hr.

Requirements

  • Any amount of experience is accepted; if there is no experience, this should be escalated.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Food handling and constant exposure to cold temperatures when working in Food and Nutrition.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • No certifications or licensure required.

Job Summary

The primary function is to support supply distribution and facility operations for MSK clinical and non-clinical areas. Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate levels of supplies, equipment, and linen according to established par levels for outpatient and inpatient floors. Collaborates with administrative and clinical leadership and assists with equipment and supply selection. Coordinates with vendors and ancillary services, including Plant Operations, Facilities Management, Safety, and Environmental Services, to maintain assigned areas in a safe, attractive, and appropriate condition.

Job Responsibilities

Supply Ordering

  • Take inventory and order supplies, when applicable, to maintain established inventory levels in assigned supply areas according to schedule.
  • Count supplies item by item and identify quantities needed to reach established inventory levels; order through the inventory management system, such as Helios.
  • Order additional supplies, including over-par-level, non-routine, and patient-charge items, as requested.
  • Order out-of-stock and depleted items promptly; offer alternatives when appropriate and check other areas for available stock.
  • Identify overstocked items, return them to the appropriate party for credit, and notify the manager.
  • Check items on order using the backorder report and notify the manager of critical items needed for timely delivery and stocking.
  • Identify and monitor fast-moving items.
  • Suggest changes to par levels and participate in par-level reviews with administrative and clinical leadership.
  • Use paper or computer-based systems to request and credit items and process Return Authorization online forms as appropriate.
  • Select the correct quantity, account number/expense code, cost center, date, and location on orders.
  • Identify cost-containment opportunities and make recommendations to managers.

Supply Distribution

  • Deliver and store supplies in appropriate locations and at appropriate levels/quantities according to department guidelines and established timeframes.
  • Distribute and store items according to established priorities and rotate items before storing.
  • Distribute items and patient-charge items daily.
  • Replenish area/procedure carts daily.
  • Deliver and stock medications and FDA-approved products, if required, within departmental timeframes.
  • Securely store distributed FDA-approved products according to guidelines.
  • Stock supplies daily in nurse servers, medication rooms, supply closets, examination rooms, patient rooms, treatment areas, labs, waiting rooms, conference rooms, and consultation rooms.
  • Introduce yourself to patients when entering an occupied room.
  • Stock/replenish patient servers with linen daily, if applicable.
