Job Title: Logistics Clerk

Job Description

The Logistics Clerk supports the efficient and timely movement of inventory and shipments while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and compliance. This role manages inventory integrity, prepares and processes shipping and receiving documentation, and provides daily data entry support to the Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Clerk contributes directly to order accuracy, on-time and in-full shipments, and adherence to company and international export/import regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily shipping and receiving activities for machines, machine parts, spare parts, laminate, labels, inks, and other commodities as required.

  • Verify incoming and outgoing merchandise against sales orders and purchase orders, ensuringcorrect items, quantities, and labeling.

  • Organize and coordinate the distribution of goods, preparing all related documentation accurately and on time.

  • Prepare shipments for dispatch and determine the most appropriate shipping method based on delivery requirements and timelines.

  • Maintain scheduled shipment timelines to meet delivery commitments and avoid delays.

  • Process sales orders and shipping documentation using the ERP system, carrier-specific systems, Microsoft Excel, and manually generated documents as needed.

  • Complete all required shipping documents, such as bills of lading, labels, and manifests, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Receive deliveries, inspect goods, and verify accuracy against purchase orders, promptly entering receipt information into the inventory system.

  • Use JDE or similar systems to record inventory receipts and transactions, and report any discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Communicate issues such as shortages, overages, or damaged goods to the appropriate contacts for resolution.

  • Ensure all production jobs from the previous shift are completed and processed by the designated daily deadline.

  • Move materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse to support continuous production operations.

  • Ensure outbound and inbound shipments comply with company procedures, legal standards, and international shipping requirements where applicable.

  • Operate a stand-up forklift to move, load, and unload pallets and heavy product safely and efficiently.

  • Lift and move heavy loads of product on pallets, including approximately 2,500 pounds of rolled product, using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices.

  • Maintain storage and receiving areas in a clean and organized condition to support site sanitation and operational efficiency.

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry for inventory transactions, shipping and receiving activities, and related logistics records.

  • Use Microsoft Office, including Excel, to maintain databases, track shipments, and support reporting needs.

  • Identify potential issues or process gaps in logistics operations, speak up proactively, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Adhere to all company compliance requirements, safety standards, and procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or logistics environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with shipping and receiving processes in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution setting.

  • Proficiency in data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience using an ERP system for processing sales orders, shipments, and inventory transactions.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic spreadsheet tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies and logistics issues.

  • Ability to handle and move heavy palletized loads safely using appropriate equipment.

  • Capability to maintain inventory accuracy and follow established procedures.

  • Willingness to take initiative, speak up when issues arise, and assume additional responsibilities when needed.

  • Ability to comply with international export/import regulations and company procedures as trained.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with JDE or similar inventory management systems.

  • Experience with carrier-specific shipping systems and documentation.

  • Familiarity with Excel pivot tables is a plus.

  • General exposure to software and technology tools used in logistics and warehouse operations.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.

  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift, full-time role in a warehouse and logistics environment. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, with a general schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Start times may vary between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., with corresponding end times between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., requiring some flexibility. The role involves regular forklift operation, frequent movement of palletized loads, and working around inventory storage, shipping docks, and receiving areas. You will work with ERP systems, JDE or similar inventory software, carrier-specific platforms, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as part of daily tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to site sanitation standards, with appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
