Transportation & Logistics Coordinator
Position Summary
Bo-Mac Contractors is seeking an experienced Transportation & Logistics Coordinator to coordinate the transportation of equipment and materials for our industrial construction operations. This position is responsible for dispatching company-owned trucks and drivers, coordinating with third-party hauling companies, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials and equipment to and from project sites, primarily within petrochemical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch company-owned trucks and drivers to meet daily project transportation needs.
- Schedule and coordinate third-party hauling services as needed.
- Arrange transportation of fabricated materials, dirt, construction equipment, piling equipment, and general construction materials.
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, drivers, and outside hauling companies to coordinate transportation schedules and delivery requirements.
- Ensure transportation activities comply with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Coordinate specialized hauling arrangements, including oversized and heavy equipment loads, as needed.
- Monitor transportation schedules and adjust dispatching arrangements to accommodate changing project needs.
- Maintain accurate transportation records and required DOT documentation.
- Address scheduling conflicts, delivery delays, and other transportation-related issues.
- Coordinate with appropriate personnel to ensure company-owned trucks are available and ready to meet project needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in transportation coordination, trucking dispatch, logistics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
- Experience dispatching trucks and drivers and coordinating third-party hauling services.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple transportation requests and adapt to changing project priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with field personnel, drivers, and outside transportation providers.
Preferred:
- Experience in industrial construction, heavy civil construction, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with transportation and delivery requirements associated with petrochemical facilities.
- Experience coordinating heavy equipment, oversized loads, fabricated materials, and specialized hauling operations.
